Sewturday, July 26

Sewturday has come and gone already.  Boy, let me tell you, this one started out wayyy different.  I have one sister that is a Lemonhead freak (I'm kinda surprised that her head hasn't turned into a lemon yet...lol), and one that loves Bit O'Honey.   So, I decided to surprise them each with a few bags.  Mom and I got there, and Honey wasn't even there yet.  THAT just doesn't happen.  Turns out, her Sewturday started out as a concrete day.  Needless to say, she was a little too pooped to do much sewing, or anything else for that matter.

So, what better to turn our concentration to?  Poop.  Yup, 4 ladies sitting around on Sewturday talking about poop.  You know, the kind that you are afraid of?  The kind that "comes out sideways and is wrapped in barbed wire".   Not my choice of words, or even my issue...at that time, anyway.  You all know about it, though.  That would be followed, a few days later, by the "oh man, I hope I can make it to the bathroom", during a meeting (did I mention that we work at home).  Of course, it would be during a meeting that you will be leading.  There were lots of laughs, followed by lots of tears.  That would be one of those conversations that would have the niece in the corner covering her face.  Sudden realization, for the sisters that were there...no wonder I was in the bathroom 4 times that day.

Once we all regained composure, it was a relatively uneventful day.  One sister wrapping fabric on comic book boards and then doing some cutting...one sister kicking back THINKING about cutting some fabric...one sister actually sewing (slowly, mind you), and mom...sitting back and just drinking it all in, loving that her daughters get together for this almost every weekend.

Lunch on this day...what the oldest sister's husband named "Hobo lips and a-holes".  Chicken and veggies in tinfoil, grilled to perfection.  Note to self:  Real garlic = sooooo good.  For dessert...4-layer delight, what we, in our family, have called THE DESSERT for years.  How can you go wrong with cream cheese, pudding and cool whip?

Hopefully, I will actually type the next Sewturday update, on the weekend ! !   Good times and good quilting to all  ! ! !
